Maybe they should have brought back the castle birthday cake.
BURBANK, CA — The 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World has begun, but guest enthusiasm is not where Bob “Bob” Chapek had hoped.
Documents recently sent to Uncle Walt’s Insider by an anonymous insider [Thanks, Josh!] detail the turmoil at the top of the Disney organization. Guests are dissatisfied with “Disney Enchantment,” the new nighttime spectacular featuring fireworks, music, special lighting and projections. The new Disney Kite Tails show at Animal Kingdom has turned into a big joke amongst the Disney fan community. The new show at Epcot, Harmonious, is okay, but Disney didn’t deliver on the Friendship boat jump they’d promised.
An excuse to raise prices? What a surprise
According to the documents, Bob “Bob” Chapek has threatened to end the 50th Celebration early, and raise prices even higher, if guests do not start responding more positively to the changes at the Disney Parks. This has put heat on Bob “Bob” Iger, who hand-picked Chapek to replace him. Iger has stated privately to friends that it would be easier to run for President than to deal with the latest failures at the Disney parks.
