Mickey & Alexa team up: Amazon Echo added to WDW Resort rooms

"Hey, Alexa, transfer my life savings to my Walt Disney World account. We're eating at Victoria & Albert's." WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL -- Amazon and Disney have a history of working together, most notably having Amazon Prime deliveries by drone while you wait in an attraction queue. And now they have announced a new partnership, bringing Alexa to your room at your favorite Walt Disney World Resort! Beginning this week, Disney is adding custom Amazon Echo devices in each room. Tomorrowland Speedway cars became sentient, began speaking

The shutdown earlier this year may not have been because of Tron. WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL -- When the Tomorrowland Speedway was closed at the beginning of this year, Disney gave construction of the new Tron roller coaster as the reason. And just like that coaster's delays were not construction issues but a ransomware attack, apparently Disney wasn't entirely honest about the Speedway closure. Sad: Hagrid can’t ride his own attraction

However, as the photo above shows, the contractor charged with the job thought he was taking out Spaceship Earth as well. Wow: we’ve been spelling “Walt” wrong all this time!

Disney to rename WDW to "Wald Disney World";  Disneyland will have "Walk in Wald's Footsteps" tour. CELEBRATION, FL -- If you haven't seen the image above already, a new fountain in the town of Celebration, Florida, includes a pointer to "Wald Disney World." Embarrassed officials at the Disney Company now admit that they've been misspelling the name of the company's founder for decades. "To be fair, Wald did have sloppy handwriting," says Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation). "Higher-ups in the ... Read more
