“It’s like a multi-country cruise, without having to move the ship.”
CELEBRATION, FL — Following the unparalleled success of its Bay Lake cruise itinerary, Disney Cruise Line announced Monday that it was adding Epcot’s World Showcase Lagoon to its growing list of destinations.
“It’s a perfect itinerary for our cruisers,” says Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation). “There are pavilions representing twelve different countries and one state, most of which we do not currently visit.”
There are benefits for the cruise line as well, Disney (no relation) says.
“Given the layout of the lagoon, more than likely the Disney Dream will just anchor in the middle somewhere. Our guests will then take ‘Friendship tenders’ to whichever country’s pavilion is the destination for that day.
“So it’ll be like a multi-country cruise, without having to move the ship. Should save us a lot on fuel! And of course, we’ll pass those savings along to… someone. Probably not our guests. Maybe Scrooge McDuck.”
World Showcase joins DCL’s other cruise destinations in the Caribbean, Europe, Mexico, Canada, Alaska, Panama, Mongolia, and the North Pole.
