Please note: it's "Dapper Days," not "Diaper Days" - Uncle Walt's Insider

Please note: it’s “Dapper Days,” not “Diaper Days”

Completely misread this one.

ANAHEIM, CA — It’s safe to say your humble correspondent has never been so, well, humbled.

I’ve not yet recovered from the embarrassment, but I feel it is my public duty to warn others: be sure you understand the event you are attending. Specifically, don’t misread “Dapper Days” as “Diaper Days.”

Diaper Dapper Days

Diap… um, Dapper Days are, according to their website, events where folks “step out in style,” attending theme parks dressed in elegant and stylish fashions.

A week or so ago, our Uncle Walt assigned me to go cover the Disneyland Spring Dapper Days for Uncle Walt’s Insider. Being the conscientious reporter that I am, I decided to dress like other attendees, so as to blend in and gain their trust.

Suffice to say, (1) Walt has really bad handwriting, and (2) I didn’t bother to do any research in advance.

WDW this weekend

So if you are planning on attending the D…apper Day events this coming weekend at Walt Disney World, please learn from my mistakes and do your research before you try to enter the parks.

I’m just glad there weren’t any photographs of my little misadventure. Other than the mug shots, that is.
