BUENA PARK, CA — After Disneyland announced their move to Texas on Monday, another popular Southern California theme park is abandoning the state for greener pastures. Knotts Berry Farm will soon leave California and join Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Knotts (the company) spokesperson Jon Knotts (no relation) shared, “It’s a sad day for the Knotts family, as we must announce we are leaving California. The high taxes and high cost off living are just too much, and with extended closures dues to Corona, and Covid-19, we have no choice.

“Pigeon Forge is fast becoming the Mecca for tourists, with their fantastic distilleries, road side attractions, shows, the always amazing Dollywood, and fantastic distilleries. We decided it would be the perfect place to relocate Knotts Berry Farm, while still honoring the memory of our founder Don Knotts.”
