The statue, called “Barners” for some reason, greets visitors approaching the park entrance.
BUENA PARK, CA — Knotts Berry Farm (motto: “America’s First Theme Park, as long as you are really generous in your definition of ‘theme park'”) unveiled a new statue today, dedicated to park founder Don Knotts. The statue depicts the late Knotts in his most iconic role as Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith Show, holding the hand of an anthropomorphic berry.
The statue is placed outside the gates to the park, so that visitors to Knotts Berry Farm will pass it as they begin their day.
