“Dear step-planDisney (Step)Moms: Are there any drupe/coconut producing trees at Walt Disney World? I’ve seen multiple palms in bloom, but do not know what species are there.” – Rosalee M. M., Arkansas

Walt:

Hi Peggy. Thanks for asking.

You can find coconut-flavored Dole Whips in the Magic Kingdom. They do not grow the coconuts on WDW property, but they are milked at a hidden facility behind Disney’s Animal Kingdom. There are also other coconut flavored items for sale, as well as clothing and decor.

Enjoy your trip.

Marty:

Dear M&M, thank you for writing. I wouldn’t have thought a famous rapper like you would be so interested in horticulture. Live and learn!

Still, I’m surprised you think coconut comes from trees. It doesn’t. It comes primarily from Mounds candy bars (or Almond Joy if you feel like a nut). And as far as I know, there are no candy bar-producing trees at Walt Disney World. (Imagineers, get to work on this immediately!)

Marty:

Also, “drupe”? Is anyone else concerned that our readers are just making up words?

X:

Where did you get the coconuts?

Ub:

We found them.

X:

Found them? In Disney World? The coconut’s tropical!

Ub:

What do you mean?

X:

Well, this is a temperate zone.

Ub:

The swallow may fly south with the sun, or the house martin or the Sand Hill Crane may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are no strangers to our World.

X:

Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?

Ub:

Not at all. They could be carried.

X:

What? A swallow carrying a coconut?

Ub:

It could grip it by the husk …

X:

It’s not a question of where he grips it, it’s a simple question of weight ratios. A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.

Drupal is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) used for creating and managing websites and web applications. Renowned for its flexibility and scalability, Drupal enables users to build diverse digital experiences, from personal blogs to enterprise-level platforms, through its modular architecture and extensive community-contributed modules. However, I’m not sure if it grows on trees.

Harriet:

On second thought, let’s not take our coconuts to Walt Disney World. ‘Tis a silly place.
