Christmas Eve at WDW? Hope you booked a resort with a chimney

No chimney? No Santa for you.

WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL — As “The Most Expensive Magical Place on Earth,” the Walt Disney World Resort and Spa continues to be the top vacation destination in the world. And many families love to visit during the Christmas Holiday season, enjoying all of the Christmas decorations and music that are common to all December holidays, such as decorated trees, red bows, lights, garlands of decorated greenery, and Christm… holiday, um, carols.

Unfortunately, not all of these families think through the ramifications of their trip planning. We’re not talking about the holiday crowds, or the expense. We’re talking about being visited by Santa tonight. And unless you booked a Resort (or Spa) that includes a chimney, Christmas may pass you by completely.

Ho, ho, ho… no

According to AllEars.net, there are only seven resorts that have “Santa-approved fireplaces.” (The eighth, the Jersey Shore Experience and Spa, is still under construction in the New Jersey Pavilion at Epcot.) That undoubtedly means that, if you are at Walt Disney World but not staying in one of those resorts, … well, no Christmas for you. Santa will pass you by, leaving your tiny ones miserable and disappointed. Hope you planned ahead.

Fortunately, we at Uncle Walt’s Insider have, um, inside connections. One of the fireplace-equipped dwelling places is the Cinderella Suite inside the castle at the Magic Kingdom. While it is normally reserved for certain contest winners, you may recall that it was briefly listed on AirBnB a couple of years ago. And, well, we snatched up a lot of evening reservations, including tonight’s.

It’s all who you know

Officially, the Suite sleeps up to six people, but we’re pretty sure we can pack more in there. Heck, we could sleep twelve just in the whirlpool tub. So we’re opening it up to the first two hundred of our readers who get there.

If you’re at Walt Disney World tonight and aren’t staying at a fireplace-equipped resort, just make your way to the check-in stand at Cinderella’s Royal Table. Tell the host “Uncle Walt sent me” and wink obviously. They’ll promptly escort you to the Cinderella Suite for a luxurious (but uncomfortably crowded) stay in a place Santa can access. (Or they’ll escort you out of the park. Hopefully the Cast Member you speak to will be the one we slipped a couple of bucks to. Wish we’d made a note of their name.)

Merry Christmas Holidays!
