Guests spoke: “Nothing would be better than this” — and Imagineers listened!
ANAHEIM, CA — Disney Parks and Resorts has made some BIG announcements at the D23 Expo – and Uncle Walt’s Insider was NOT there to hear them!
One huge bit of news has set the Internet ablaze: E.P.C.O.T. Center’s Test Track, the Chevrolet sponsored car-themed ride, will soon be reimagined. Or re-reimagined. And the new theme has guests going crazy!
The new overlay? Nothing. Guests will simply ride along the never-changed track and experience nothing but clicks, whirrs, and the sound of the wind as they travel through the soon to be emptied show building.
Maybe it should be Test Track 0.0
We were recently out at EPCOT [Ed.: By WE, Walt means him…] and talked to a few guests about this upcoming change.
Albert Jones, from Alhambra, CA, shared this: “I come to Walt Disney World to ride attractions that we do not have, but our Test Track, better known as Radiator Springs Racers, is far superior. So when I heard about the re-theme to nothing, I was excited! It’s original. It’s ground-breaking. Having nothing is better than what is currently out there. I can’t wait to ride!”
Selena Gomez [Ed.: Really?], from San Antonio, TX, was also excited about the new change. “I remember my first time to ride Test Track. It made sense, the theme matched the name. Then came the Tron-like overlay. Just a black room with neon and some lights and signs. One says “4Ghz”… What does that even mean when you’re talking about a car? I feel like they just put a bunch of random stuff out there. Riding along with nothing is a HUGE improvement.
“I already close my eyes when I ride the current version because it’s that bad, so it’ll be great to have the same experience after the upgrade!”
Is nothing really better than the current theme of Test Track? Let us know in the comments below!
