ORLANDO, FL — Universal Orlando Resort and Nail Salon has announced their first ever ‘Friendliest Team Member of the Year.’ The winner was selected by leaders based on feedback from actual guests.

Keeping up with the Disneys

Universal Orlando has long been thought of as ‘The Other Theme Park in Orlando‘. Known for their large collection of 3D motion simulators [Ed.: and not much else!], Universal is often people’s sixth choice for entertainment when visiting Orlando. (Behind Disney, Legoland, The Holy Land Experience, Dinosaur World, and Fantasy of Flight). As such, they often have to resort to gimmicks to draw guests. They recently held a press conference to announce their latest gimmick.

The Press Conference

Universal Spokesperson Junie Versal (no relation): “As you probably know, we frequently do guest surveys to find out how we can improve our theme parks. One of the most frequent comments that we got was that employees at Disney are much friendlier than our Team Members here at Universal Orlando Resort and Nail Salon. So our leadership set out to see how we could change that mostly accurate perception. We decided to find the friendliest Team Member at Universal Orlando Resort and Nail Salon, and award them for their friendliness.

“We looked at dozens of guest comment cards, and discovered that the most frequently praised Team Member is a Merchandise Floater [Ed.: a Floater moves around from store to store], named Don Kischoen (pronounced KIH-shane). Don received high marks for always thanking the guests at the end of every transaction, and for helping them find Harry Potter merchandise when they were in the Dr. Seuss section of the park.

“As a reward for his excellent service, Don will receive $100 in Universal gift cards, which he may use anywhere on our property, except Ollivander’s Wand Shoppe.”
