Sure, it kills the magic, but the waits will be shorter!

WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL — The Walt Disney World Resort and Spa announced a new policy on Wednesday which may be controversial: Mickey will appear in more than one location in each park simultaneously.

“He’s the most popular character, for sure.” That’s the word from Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation).

“Lots of guests line up, sometimes for hours, just for a few moments to visit with Mickey. That’s just a limitation to having Mickey only in one meet-and-greet spot at a time.”

Magic vs. convenience

“But what if,” Disney (no relation) continues, “we had two Mickey meet-and-greets going at the same time?”

“Look, we already know Mickey can be in multiple parks at the same time. And if anyone spends just a few minutes with the MyDisneyMagic+ app, they can find those ‘multiple Mickeys.’ This will just streamline the magic-ruining process.

“In the Magic Kingdom, you can meet Mickey either at Town Square Theater or now at Ariel’s Grotto, too! In Epcot, he’ll be at the Disney Visa Cardmember meet-and-greet, and also now with Inside Out’s Joy and Sadness, appropriately enough, at their Headquarters.”

Just the first step?

Disney (no relation) reports that the other parks will have “at least” two Mickeys at any given time.

“We don’t want to completely blow the magic,” she says, “so we’re training Cast Members on a whole ‘Mickey’s a time traveler’ backstory. Officially, there’s just one true Mickey, but he uses whatever the Disney version of a Time-Turner is. Mickey can then relive each day multiple times so he can be in more than one location.”

This may not be the end, Disney (no relation) says: “Yeah, if we can get away with this, get ready for multiple Santa Clauses during the holidays!”
