“Dear (Step) Moms: I’m a subscriber to Disney+, but I’ve been reading articles that some accounts have been hacked. Do I have anything to worry about?” – Steven Cirino, Fort Lee, NJ
Dear Steve-o: Of course you should be worried. You live in Fort Lee.
Hello Steven, and thank you for visiting the (Step) Moms Panel!
Thank you for letting me use your Disney+ account.
By the way, you really should think about changing your password. My bot was able to get past it in just a couple of hours. Also, you should change it at your bank, too. Never use the same password for multiple accounts.
I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you buying me lunch today on Uber Eats. Delivery to Svalbard is NOT cheap, and I’m humbled by your generosity.
Oh, and thank you for my upcoming Disney cruise!
Hope that helps.
Technically, it’s not hacking. It’s phishing, or stupidity, or both. The phishing is when you clicked on that link that said it was from Disney but actually wasn’t, and then put in your username and password. The stupidity is using a weak password like your kid’s name spelled backwards.
I’d also like to say thanks for lunch. Ub said he was buying, but I guess you’re the one that actually bought it for us.
Oh … one more thing … while we’re on the subject of bad passwords, 1-2-3-4-5 sounds like the kind of password some idiot would have on their suitcase.
I wondered why Ub was suddenly generous.
Don’t worry, boys. There are thousands of people on Disney+ using easy passwords that match up to all their other accounts. Tomorrow, we’re gonna eat like kings!
Just don’t go to Walt Disney World. There are already enough people there without you.
Hi Steve, thanks for asking. I would only add to what X said and say it’s not all phishing. Brute force attempts are still a thing. But it’s not like any of us know anything about security.
By the way, ignore the new profile on your account that says ‘Walt’ and looks a bit like me.
