Instead of ‘exit through the gift shop,’ guests will ‘travel in the gift shop.’
WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL — New details have emerged about the Skyliner gondola system under construction at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. Apparently each gondola car will have its own gift store, so Disney guests can shop as they travel.
Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation) tells Uncle Walt’s Insider the concept behind the news.
“The Walt Disney Company is dedicated to providing magical experiences for our guests,” Disney (no relation) says. “But once that box is checked, we’re next dedicated to providing lucrative experiences. Lucrative for us, that is. And the Skyliner is already magical, but until now there hasn’t been a way to monetize it.”
Mo’ money, less space
The individual gondola cars are said to hold up to eight guests each, but that will change under the new plan.
“Sure, we could have eight guests traveling through the sky in comfort and style,” Disney (no relation) shares. “OR, we could have four or five guests, plus a Cast Member and an assortment of incredible but generic Walt Disney World merchandise for sale! Which sounds better to you, assuming ‘you’ are a corporate entertainment complex seeking to maximize profits?”
