The D23 announcement has everyone dancing on one leg in anticipation!
ANAHEIM, CA — More exciting news out of the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center. On Thursday of last week, Disney officials announced that Moana-themed restrooms are coming to Epcot!
Officially described as an “attraction” called “Journey of Water,” the restrooms are part of the multi-hundred dollar renovations to the park. This is great news, especially for Moana fans disappointed that the Tiki Room overlay is to be Guardians of the Galaxy themed.
Just hold it
“You may notice that there’s no South Pacific Pavilion where Moana is a good fit,” Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation) tells Uncle Walt’s Insider. “So these special restrooms won’t be just in one place. We are actually retheming all the restrooms in Epcot to be a Moana: Journey of Water experience!”
There may be some guest discomfort involved during construction. “Yeah, that is unavoidable,” Disney (no relation) continues. “We’ll be renovating all the restrooms at once, so guests will just have to wait until they exit the park to relieve themselves.”
The restrooms will all be shut down by the end of this month. They are expected to reopen by 2023.
