And some say food delivery by Disney Transportation makes it even better.
LAKE NONA, FL — You won’t have to wait until the parks reopen to get your Disney food fix. Disney is partnering with GrubHub to bring the food to you!
Disney has been working the past week to re-purpose their fleets of buses, Minnie Vans, watercraft, trains, and monorails for food delivery. They’ll soon be bringing a taste of the parks right to your door! (Assuming you live in Central Florida.)
A welcome change for many
Orlando residents kept home from the parks (as well as life in general) by the COVID-19 pandemic have expressed relief at the thought that they can once again experience the Quick Service food from their beloved Disney parks and resorts.
“We have been missing our pulled pork sandwiches from the ABC Commissary,” said Kissimmee resident John Bernard. “This new food delivery option fixes that.”
Vivian Desrosiers of Casselberry added, “There’s just no substituting pizza from the World Premiere Food Court at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.”
Some not convinced
“I just don’t know how they’re going to keep the food hot all the way to Minneola,” said Davenport resident Bruce Monzon. “I mean, do you know how cold they keep those buses?”
“It’s nice that they have Quick Service delivery,” remarked Charles Friedman of Dr. Phillips. “However, my wife and I prefer something of a little more class than that. We will settle for nothing less than the delivery of Victoria and Albert’s, and one course at a time.”
“I hate it,” says Disney Cast Member Byron Whitt. “I mean, I work at Disney to interact with guests. Now, I drive my bus to the door, drop off delivery, ring the doorbell and run. It’s like I’m playing a prank or something. But that’s not possible because I’m driving a bus and wearing a Disney bus driver costume.”
Not all areas and Quick Service options to be served
While Disney is providing this service to surprisingly distant locations as DeBary, Winter Haven, and even The Villages, they have no intention of delivering to any homes within half a mile of Universal Orlando. They have also limited the menu to everything from every Quick Service location except cream cheese pretzels.
Disney has not indicated whether this service will be made available in the Anaheim or Los Angeles area.
