“Dear Uncle Walt (Step) Moms: I have acquired a “Disney Partners” bronze statue, and I’ve found there are a number such statues and copies. The one I have is 14 1/2″ high, with a ‘B. Gibson’ signature and a Disney copyright symbol. It does not have a numbered/240 mark. It does have the STR on Walt’s tie, and is mounted on a 5″ x 10″ marble base. I can’t tell whether it’s a cultured marble base or real marble. Is this version a real bronze, or is it a cast resin body with a bronze finish? Do you have an idea of its market value?” – Dick Jenkins

Marty:

Dear D.J., I hate to give you bad news, but I suspect that what you have isn’t authentic. I’ve seen the Partners statues in both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland, and they’re both MUCH bigger than 14.5″ tall — maybe even two or three times that much?

Sorry to disappoint you, but I’m sure you can always use what you have as a doorstop or a paperweight.

Ub:

Hello, Dick. Can I call you Richard? I don’t know about the other guys, but I’m just more comfortable with that.

Might I ask where you got this statue from? My friends in park shrinkage want to know.

Harriet:

Just don’t go to Walt Disney World. There are already enough people there without you.

Walt:

Hi Dick, thanks for asking. I see that you submitted your question to me, but the overzealous Moms on the Uncle Walt Insiders (Step) Moms panel have hijacked your question. Allow me to help you, in the way that only I can.

Now, without looking at photos of the item, I can only speculate based on your excellent description. What you may have is a statue known as the Disney Cast Members Partners in Excellence Statue. The marble base may have an area where the nameplate was originally attached. That could help in identifying the piece as the award statue. These are real bronze.

The market value isn’t all that much, as these are given out like candy at Not So Scary Halloween parties. We’d be happy to take it off your hands so you can fill your shelves with valuable items, like a coveted Golden Churro Award.
