“Dear (Step) Moms: It’s almost Halloween, and I have the cutest Fairy Godmother outfit to wear! The problem is, we’re not going to Disneyland until mid-November. Can I still wear my full costume? (P.S. I already know about DisneyBounding. I want to wear the whole thing!)” – Pat Botha, Phoenix AZ

Dear P-Bo:

Absolutely you can. Just not for long.

Wow, a bothan! Thanks for asking!

I would caution wearing a full costume to the park, they are usually really uncomfortable, and with the dome going under extended refurbishment, the weather can be quite hot. What you need to do instead is go Bounding! Disneybounding!

If you haven’t heard of it, Disneybounding is exactly like cosplay, but without the costume. Just find some random outfits that make you look like a Disney character. It’s literally just that easy!

Just don’t dress up like Donald. Trust me, Ub has been doing this for weeks. None of us have the guts to tell him to put on pants.

No. Just no.

Primarily because you are presumably an adult, presumably female, and you referred to one of your own outfits as ‘cute.’ Evidence has shown that adults who refer to themselves as ‘cute’ never are.

Hi Patricia!

Going to Walt Disney World as your favorite character is a wonderful way to experience the parks – and I should know, since I’ve been doing the same around the office dressed as my favorite character.

After weeks of dressing up as Donald, I gotta say it’s been a blast. Sometimes literally. I’ve learned to be very careful about sitting on metal benches on hot days. I’ve also found that it’s great way to ensure my own personal space, though as the Fairy Godmother you’ll probably get more hugs than Donald ever would.

Just one thing to watch out for: in the Fairy Godmother’s costume, you might want to find a good way to modify it before getting onto Space Mountain. While you could swing it safely on Disneyland’s Space Mountain, you definitely don’t want to try it in the Walt Disney World rockets.

I hope that helps.

Just don’t go to Walt Disney World. There are already enough people there without you.
