(Step)Moms Panel: Dine at Palo while staying at Walt Disney World???

“Dear (Step) Moms: We’re staying at the All Star Movies, but would like to use our dining credits at Palo. How much time will we need to get there from our resort on the Disney transportation system?” – Cheryl M., Hartford, CT

Walt:

Hi, Cheri! How exciting for you!

I remember my first stay at an All Stars Resort! After spending the night with Lilly and our two girls in that tiny room, we vowed never again! You’ll get to have the same experience! I hope you’re only there for the one night and then moving to one of the fabulous Deluxe resorts!

Now, when you are moving, keep in mind that they will move your luggage to the new resort. Just make sure you tip your bellhop. They will also take bags that you don’t want to bring to the parks and move them as well! Just use the in-room phone to call up bell services, or take your bags to the bellhop desk and let them know you’re moving resorts, they will take down some information, collect your bags, and then you can board one of the buses and leave that resort behind!

Have a magical vacation!

Ub:

Hello, Sharon. Welcome back to the (Step) Moms Panel.

Dinner at Disney Parks and on Disney Cruise Lines is always a special experience, and you should always allow for ample time to get from your hotel to the restaurant, especially since Palo is likely out at sea. In fact, I’d recommend you give yourself a couple days, depending on where in the world the Disney Wonder is at that moment.

Contrary to popular opinion, Disney does not provide helicopter service from its STOLPort, but that’s because Disney Storage has taken it over with their shipping containers. But there are some bus drivers who will still give you a tour if you ask nicely.

For boarding the Wonder, I recommend waiting until the dead of night the evening before your reservation, approaching in a dark, rigid inflatable boat, and then using a rubber-tipped grappling hook to climb the side of the ship, if you make it close enough.

Finally, once on board, it’s important that you make sure and use Suite 8030 for your changing room. Just knock, the people inside will definitely let you in, and sometimes they’ll even let you use their clothes.

Have a wonderful time at the All Star Movies Resort, and enjoy your dinner at Palo!

Harriet:

Just don’t go to Walt Disney World. There are already enough people there without you.

X:

Hi Cheryl. How is the new ‘sheeshy-er’ She Shed working out for you?

I’m so excited that you’re able to go to the Walt Disney World Resort, Donut Shop, and Spa. You can arrange for transportation from your Disney resort to Port Canaveral by contacting the Disney Cruise Line reservation team or your authorized travel professional.

Regrettably, Palo does not currently accept the Disney Dining Plan. However, Disney’s Castaway Club members with Platinum status can enjoy one free Palo meal per reservation.

X (again):

Wow, that Kool-aid was a little strong. I forgot that this is Uncle Walt’s, not the actual mom’s panel. I promise I don’t usually snort that much pixie dust.

Sorry about that. It won’t happen again. But yeah, enjoy your cruise. I guarantee it’ll be nicer than All Star Movies.

Marty:

Dear Mrs. Ford: I echo what the others said — I think, I didn’t really bother to read them. They tend to drone on and not say much. But it fills up articles so I don’t complain. [Ub: Hey, Marty, was that pointed at me? That felt pointed at me.]

I’ll just add that on-board room service does not allow you to order dishes from Palo unless you are staying in one of the top-level suites, such as the Walter E. Disney Suite. Which is something, as I’ve mentioned before, that I totally did on my last cruise.

I know that doesn’t help answer your question, but I’ll take any opportunity to brag.
