“We had no idea more than one person ever even watched the show.”
BR’ER BANK, CA — After a massive letter-writing campaign from fans, Disney+ has reversed its decision to cancel its controversial Star Wars series The Acolyte. Seasons 2, 3, 4 and 5 will begin production soon.
The show, which is set in the Star Wars universe, we think, and is… about an acolyte or something (we didn’t watch it), was initially canceled after one season of bad reviews and low ratings. However, as Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation) tells Uncle Walt’s Insider, Disney+ received letters from fans (plural!) requesting that the series continue.
Overwhelming support?
“It was an amazing thing,” Disney (no relation) said. “We had no idea more than one person ever even watched the show. The three positive letters we received are certainly enough to outweigh the thousands of negative ones. And the scathing reviews. Seriously, Disney+ has never before received three positive letters about any of their original shows!”
The Acolyte is the second most popular show on Disney+ to feature lesbian space witches, after Bluey.
