EPCOT, FL — Uncle Walt’s Insider has new information regarding a certain restaurant at the End of the Universe!

This is of course Space 220, a new restaurant run by the Patina Group, coming soon to EPCOT. Its opening has been delayed for some time, and now Uncle Walt’s Insider can finally reveal the details behind the delay. Disney (the company) spokeswomanperson Jun Disney (no relation) shares the details with us.

To boldly go where no guest has gone before

“The restaurant has been completed for some time actually,” Disney (no relation) tells us. “We’ve even trained the crew!

“The problem lies in how we get guests to Space 220. The truth is, we’re having problems with the calculations on the X2 Deep Space Shuttle for the jump to light speed.”

That seems like simple issue to overcome, we thought. Disney (no relation) set us straight.

We feel like a bunch of scruffy-looking nerfherders

“Hey, traveling through hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops, boy! Without precise calculations we could fly right through a star or bounce too close to a supernova and that’d end your trip real quick, wouldn’t it?

“In fact, don’t print this, but that’s why we had to find a new head chef. We were originally going to use the Millennium Falcon, but hell hath no fury like a Wookiee scorned. I’m not getting my arms ripped off. Which is why we’re onto the third replacement chef.

“Okay, let’s review: that is seats, seatbelts, carry-on items, safety strap, lightsaber, porgs for wookies, keep your hands and arms attached at all times – anything else…? Oh yeah, have a nice lunch!”
