“Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” upgraded to “Fairly-Scary”

WALT DISNEY WORLD, FL — “Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party” (MNSSHP) has been upgraded for the second time recently and is now a Category 4, “Fairly-Scary” Halloween Party, according to the National Scariness-Tracking Center. The MNSHHP has been increasing in scariness since its late August debut.

Beginning at a Category 1, “Not-Scary” party, the Magic Kingdom Park aims to maintain the ticketed event at Category 2, “Not-So-Scary.” “That’s the level that seems to satisfy the most guests,” says Disney (the company) spokesperson Jun Disney (no relation), “especially those families with younger children. But sometimes we can let things get away from us and the scariness factor increases.”

Unpredictable

“It can be little things that increase the scare factor,” Disney (no relation) continues. “Slightly too-realistic makeup on the Cadaver Dans, the Headless Horseman getting a little too close to the crowds. We’re okay with occasionally slipping up to Category 3 ‘Slightly-Scary,’ but at 4 or above we really try to tone it down.”

An upgrade to Category 5 ‘Extremely-Scary’ usually leads to mandatory evacuation.

“There has been only one recorded Category 5 incident, when Mickey’s head fell off during the parade,” Disney (no relation) says.” We gave out a lot of free churro coupons to hush that one up, let me tell you.”
