(Step)Moms Panel: “How soon will things get back to normal?”

Ub (cont’d):

But if you didn’t stall, you’d still be flying. Which, if you are in the air as you read this, what are you doing flying at a time like this? You should be on the ground, at home, practicing social distancing locked away in your bathtub with your family and pets, with a mattress over you for protection from the virus.

But seriously. The key is to stall right as the plane hits the runway [Ed.: please find a better word for making contact with something at 150+ mph, other than “hit”. It makes it sound so violent.] so that the plane stops flying and starts driving. Because if you don’t stall, you’ll have to keep flying, even if you’re on the ground. That means you’ll have to leave the ground again.

So for those on the ground who have flown before, you have stalled in an airplane, and if you’re one of our readers who is in the air as you read this, what are you doing flying at a time like this? You should be on the ground, at home, practicing social distancing locked away in your bathtub with your family and pets, with a mattress over you for protection from the virus.

So you’ll be relieved to know that your BMI doesn’t generally affect your ability to fly safely.
