“Dear (Step) Moms: “I’m thinking of taking my family to Walt Disney World in early October, but I’ve never been at this time of year. What makes Halloween special at Walt Disney World?” – Roddy Valenta, Elko NV

Walt:

Hi Roddy, thanks for asking.

When hinges creak in doorless chambers
And strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls
Whenever candlelights flicker where the air is deathly still
That is the time when ghosts are present
Practicing their terror with ghoulish delight

When the crypt doors creak, and the tombstones quake
Spooks come out for a swinging wake
Happy haunts materialize
And begin to vocalize
Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize

Now don’t close your eyes and don’t try to hide
Or a silly spook may sit by your side
Shrouded in a daft disguise
They pretend to terrorize
Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize

As the moon climbs high o’er the dead oak tree
Spooks arrive for the midnight spree
Creepy creeps with eerie eyes
Start to shriek and harmonize
Grim Grinning Ghosts come out to socialize!

Marty:

Hello, Ruddy.

First, be thankful you weren’t in our offices to hear Walt attempting to sing that. [Walt: Attempting???]

Second, there’s plenty that makes Halloween special at Walt Disney World. For one thing, it falls at the end of October, which means the weather is transitioning from being hot and wet to being slightly less hot and slightly less wet.

October is also the time our Uncle Walt hands out his annual bonus checks to us writers. The checks usually bounce, but it’s still a hopeful, fun time.

But the most special thing about Halloween at Walt Disney World is that it means Christmas is almost here! Yay! Enjoy your trip!!

X:

Walt’s advice sounds pretty good to me. I can’t improve on that; so, Roddy, if you don’t like it, sorry. No sense writing an essay when it’s all been done before.

Ub:

Hello, Rudy. That is a rude question, and I won’t dignify it with a response. Of course Walt Disney World Resort and Spa and Grooming is a great place for Halloween. The best part is, no one’s expecting it when you suddenly chase them with a chainsaw! It was such a great time. Memories.

I am legally required to disclose my 45-day stay at the Orange County Jail this incident.

Harriet:

Just don’t go to Walt Disney World. There are already enough people there without you.
