I'm a mother, so I have gone thru that whole pregnancy thing and still I can't find any excuse for this type of thing. Constantly you hear about woman whining about how they are pregnant and they can't stand in line to see the character and I need to let them go ahead of other people. I have grown not only immune to the tales, but also I have grown to be a little pissed at the self entitled issues that some people have. The heck with the world, I'm bringing another spawn so, stand aside.

Never mind the 2 year old who is ready for his nap, but is patiently waiting in line almost falling asleep. I'm first because I'm pregnant. Err... no, as a woman and as a mother I find this kind of excuse seriously wrong. I think it's unfair to have to pick between little kids, people with medical problems and add to that now you want me to add pregnant woman? Thankfully, characters line are all in one and I'm glad about it. If everyone could cut the line where the heck would we be then?

Being pregnant does not mean that you are disabled; and if the pregnancy disables you the last place you need to be is in Disney World. I had complications in my second pregnancy and the first thing I did was lay off my feet.

Top SG reasons "I MUST go to the front of the line":

1. I (my family member) am pregnant and can't stand in line.

2. I have acne which is a disability and so by the ADA I must go first.

3. I have a blister on my foot and can't stand.

4. My child is younger than all the others and so should go first.

5. I'm spending lots of money and so I get to go first.

6. I'm about to leave and this is the only thing I HAVE to do. The fact that I didn't do it for the entire prior week has no value in this discussion.

Anyone else have additions?

Randy

Actually, there are modern chastity belts that are pretty hygienic, Google "chastity belt" and you'll find them.

I seen lots of excuses for head of the line priviledges.

I fatten my kid up to where he has trouble standing for any length of time.

I am drunk.

I have to pee but really want to do the ride first.

The plane leaves in 2 hours and this is our last ride, honest it is.

I belong to a certain group of people thus I feel entitled to priviledges.

You're correct - Disney (and some other theme parks as well) do a great job of assisting those with disabilities. They provide easier access, unobstructive viewing areas, etc. But there are those guests who feel the disability is their ticket to get better treatment than anyone else. I've had people insist they can't wait a second for a ride because of a disability. There are some disabilities where long waits are a problem, but for most theme park guests with disabilities, the problem is with HOW they wait in line (sitting vs. standing, etc.) not THAT they wait in line. Using a disability to get to the front of the line in those instances is demanding better than equal treatment IMHO and frankly sours the CMs against those who really DO need to bypass the wait entirely because of their disability. We've had guests use their disability to get into a show that was already full or to push someone who got their earlier than they did out of their seat. That's demanding more than equal treatment. That's what I meant when I said that. EVERYONE deserves to enjoy the parks and the attractions equally. Sometimes the parks have to do something different to allow different guests to experience the same level of enjoyment. But everyone pays the same amount of money to get in for the most part, and they all deserve to get that enjoyment. That's why people like that father, who USE the disability to create an advantage really bother me.

Good for her!

Of course (in general, not talking specifically about Court) the desire to make children is not the main desire at play. Kids at that age (and I once was one) tend to be very good at separating the desire to have kids from the desire to do the activity that leads to kids!

People really use a disability to make someone LEAVE a show and go in, in their place?????? Holey crap! See, if I were a CM, I would say, NO!!!!! The ADA provides for up to equal access if it can be given, (on a ride like Indy, it cannot be given...) NOT MORE than equal access. I wish I was around in my chair when someone on a scooter or chair tried to pull that shit. They would be crawling away with their double chin, (they would have one after I tried to pull their damn head off their neck!!!) dragging behind them. Unbelievable. But I guess I SHOULD believe it, since I have seen what some SGs do. I still get surprised when I hear of some SG tricks. Maybe working at WDW will cure me of my still ever present idealism, even at the ripe old age of 53!

I would not allow anyone to take advantage of the system in that way. How do they get away with it? How can you ask someone else to leave to accommodate a self centered pig? If I were already seated for a show and asked to leave to allow for that, I would tell them no, they can wait just like EVERYONE else. They are no better than anyone, thus they get to wait like everyone else. Too many nice bleedin' hearts lettin' em get away with it.

I asked for no more than anyone else when I was in a chair and even apologized often for the problems it caused. They ARE cumbersome and get in the way! The way I saw some of those CMs pick up that scooter and put it where they needed it was amazing! I had no problem following any directions that a CM gave me to enter an attraction or where to leave the wheels.

There were many others on wheels that DID cause traffic jams and zoomed around like it was NASCAR or something, not watching out for others. That pissed my off. Made me want to drive out in front of em and stop THEIR scooter with mine and give them a lecture. But I can't spend my whole vacation scolding SGs, I have to have SOME fun! ;)

Of course reprimanding SGs is a type of fun, I just need some MAGIC as well, when I get to Destination Disney!!! :D:

Man, I just feel for CMs more and more with every story I read here. :( What you all have to put up with? Y'all should be given a tazer and when an SG acts up? Zzzzzzzzzztttttttt!

WE never permit it, but we've had circumstances where a nice guest will give up their seat to a SG who arrived late and made a fuss because they couldn't have one. I hate to see that, since it just rewards that kind of behavior.

I wouldn't think the CMs would do that, just nice doormat guests who let other's take advantage of them. People need to grow a backbone and not let the *entitled thinking* get away with it. If everyone stopped them in their tracks, they would not get away with ANYTHING anymore. That sucks, because when doormats do let them get their way, you are right, it just reinforces the behavior and then someone else has to deal with that assinine behavior later when they try it again. I would let them know what I think of their behavior, short of an actual fistfight. They definitely would know that their behavior was being pointed out to them! I would not do anything to jeopardize anyone's safety or risk getting thrown out of the Park, but you can be sure they would hear my sneering voice in their head the rest of the day!
