I like that, maybe an "area 51 Disney" attraction?
I have also noticed that since 9/11, many people are concerned with security and safety that normally would not have even given it a second thought.

I worked with a guy who was stationed at Groom Lake and was involved with maintaining the SR-71.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

WOW and I feel all warm and cozy from that comment.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Mapo, you are a wet blanket and a kill joy. If you don't like this message board, get the hell off of it.
Perhaps if I had answered this proprietary question, I would not be a wet blanket.
I enjoy the message board, just perhaps not some of the inappropriate questions and answers it contains occasionally. As you see from my profile, I am a current cast member at WDW. I *mostly* enjoy my job and would like to keep doing it or other things at WDW.
Unfortunately, since we are not all current cast and we have no way to verify one's identity either way, I side on the caution side. This is especially true since current cast are under gag orders for some incidents and WDW/Disney corp is monitoring this and other message boards.
Perhaps if you were here while we have had to pull those ghouls (media and 'interested' people) out of the bushes during the monorail or recent bus incidents you would feel differently. The only good thing about the latest bus incident was that *for ONCE* the media actually made it sound like we at WDW were doing our job protecting our cast and guests! Yes, I still pinch myself on that one.
Also, I can tell you that you will never hear about most incidents, big and small, on WDW property. Some like the monorail incidents, bus incidents, and recent pedophile incidents at our parks and resorts make the news. Many, many others do not; this means that our system of protecting the magic for our cast and guests is working. Too bad the media did not pick up on the fact that the Fort Wilderness incident while tragic, resulted in that pedophile's arrest the same day. You can check that, it is part of the public record.
Safety begins with ME. This includes protecting the policies and procedures of WDW that have intel that would be of interest to "bad guys". With WDW's profile being very, very high on the sites of interest, I err on the side of caution. Oh, and having a wet blanket during a fire is a very good thing.
I do not expect everyone to agree with me. However, I expect everyone to be civil to everyone's view.

Oh good. Cat fight over. (sheesh)
I questioned my daughter about the toy she 'liberated' from the news stand, and she 'remembers' having it for quite a few years. She can't recall if her mom ever sent the $$ though.

It's kind of a 'PC' thing. Years ago I picked up some scrap reflector tape from work after making our equipment trlr DOT compliant. Some time later my son asked abt some silver tape for his bicycle. After I gave it to him,he asked where I got it. I told him,"I 'aquired' it from work". He said,"I like the way you said "Aquired", using the finger guote motion.Main Streeter wrote:What an interesting way of stating. ;) You are a a unique, colorful guy. :D:

At WDW, whenever one department needs some supply that they're currently out of, and another department has (rags, pans and brooms are pretty common examples), the department that needs it will often send someone to the other department's storage areas/closets to facilitate the "Re-allocation of company resources"darph nader wrote:It's kind of a 'PC' thing.
