Re: Sam the Koala Won't Be Down For Breakfast
The baker loved your pics hobie. Kinda reminds me of when a buddy and I went fishing. We had a bag of peanuts sitting on the ground between us and this squirrel cruises up,looks at us,grabs a nut and hauls ass. We looked at each other like 'oookay'. 5mins later the little shit comes back, looks at us again, crawls 'inside' the bag, grabs another one and hauls again.
Beer....The reason I get up every,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,afternoon.

The word "koala" means "no drink" in Aborigine, as they normally get their water from the eucalyptus leaves they eat. But seeing these little fellas drinking water, begging for water, sitting in water, etc., makes me think of an old anecdote. Two camels are walking through the desert, day after day, in a caravan. Four days into the journey, one camel suddenly turned to the other and said, "The heck with our reputation--I'm thirsty!"
Yeah, poor little fellas. Makes you wonder what they did before people came, when it got this hot....

That reminds me of the story on how to turn a 25-day camel into a 30-day camel.felinefan wrote:Four days into the journey, one camel suddenly turned to the other and said, "The heck with our reputation--I'm thirsty!"

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Golden Mantle Squirrels over at Lake Tahoe are very used to people and beg terribly. We didn't feed them, but I strolled over to one to share a sunny spot on a tree stump and he didn't move for about 10 minutes. I'll email Hobie pic and see if he wants to post it. (humbly asking, Hobie. ;) )

The only thing missing is the squirrel holding a little fishing pole. :D:
