Hi everyone,

Thanks to you all that kept the proverbial candle lit during all this. If anything gives me peace it is knowing that grandma is not going to have to live out the rest of her days with the pain or cancer treatments.

I've decided not to go back to CT to attend the funeral. My parents have told me I gave grandma and them a great gift by being there and being with her last week when she really needed it. I know if grandma had to choose she would rather have had me there when it meant something to her, then after it was too late.

We've got a lot on our plate between my switching companies, bru's surgery, and other stuff (kid's dentist). I think I've done the best I could for grandma already and she would rather I keep my house in order now and remember the time we had in her final days....

As a funny story... I guess when my parents and aunt/uncle showed up to make the funeral arrangements, grandma had already prepaid the WHOLE thing and laid out everything the way she wanted it. LOL That was grandma.... she wouldn't have wanted to leave anything for her children to have to worry about after she was gone. She prepaid right after my grandfather died, in 1996. i was laughing thinking the funeral director must have been grinding his teeth, since funerals probably cost double now what they did back then.

So again thanks to everyone! I old Bru when I got home last monday that the next time I get on a plane there better be a kona cafe pineapple teryaki steak waiting for me on the other end. I think grandma would like that idea much better too :)

You did good, March. Everyone is very proud of you...

Here's something more I have to add- do you know what grandma said yesterday? As in, during her final day on this earth?

She said, "Don't let Bru miss her appointment with the eye surgeon on Friday." She knew I'd been waiting three months to talk to the doctor about trying to restore some vision on the right.

She was one incredible lady.

thanks again everyone, so much more than words can say. (Wallaby I know I owe you an email pal, sorry I'm running behind over here the kid got braces on her teeth today...)

hugs to all
bru

Not a problem. You've got a lot going on.

I am glad you have such good memories of her, and March, I am glad you got to spend some quality time with her.
