The Mark I through Mark III monorails did indeed have a top bubble, but it was not the pilot's position, but guest seating. The pilot sat just forward of the bubble on a raised platform behind the guests in the nose seating.
So while I'm all for retro design, a top bubble will not get the pilots a better view ... more's the pity.
Next time, check with me on this stuff. I'm old

and I know stuff! :lecture:
I've always gone by the motto:
Age and treachery will always win over youth and skill
but that's just me.

That's my motto now too, but once upon a time it was:
Youth and treachery will always win over age and skill.
Didn't work as well, but in those days it was all I had. I have outlived a few of the bastards though.

At least the treachery part stuck with you though there's much to be said for longevity!

I wonder if that's how they did it.....
From what I heard that they took Mark IV Blue and shortened it down to 3 cars, and it was used as the test train. They put a cardboard silhouette of the Mark VI around it to test clearances.
