I, too know way more about this than I can say but BW is right on 100%

The real shame here is that bus driver will probably never drive for Disney again, and it won't be the company that does it. The driver was in no way at fault here but the trauma from the incidentwill be enough to end a career.

I already figured on that. While he wasn't injured physically (AFAIK) he was seriously injured mentally by the accident and mental injuries take far longer than physical injuries to heal, if they ever do fully.

I hope Disney pays to get the driver counseling, he probably needs it. There was nothing he could do to avoid the accident but that doesn't matter. I wouldn't be surprised if he never gets behind the wheel of any bus again, at Disney or elsewhere.

Well.... I just got back from a 30 hrs of OT from all over the property. I got to talking with a guy I was working with, who knew the driver of the car and he had this to say....

" < Name With Held > was a PT bar tender for catering, was on her way to work and running late. She had just hung up with her boyfriend about a minute or two before the accident and asked him to tell their manager that she was running late and she would be their soon."

That was the last anyone spoke to her prior to the crash. She was, from what i was told, an 18 year service Disney CM.

I also feel sad for the friends, family, and of course for the driver herself ( on a human stand point ) but feel that her actions dictate her circumstance. i am a Fire Fighter / EMT and have seen alot of deadly accidents in my time and I can tell you that for the bus driver... this is going to be a very long road to recovery. for the RCID FD / EMS... this is tragic but I promis this to you, that they have developed a wall that "helps" block these sceens from intruding into their lives. If you have the time... rent a Nick Cgae film called "Bringing out the Dead" it will give you insight into what we in the first responders community call "ghosts" and how some of us drown the ghosts out.
