This makes me call BS. I hit my head (hard enough to scrape the top of my head and bleed) in Monstro and the nurses at Disney did not say I needed to be alert every so often. They said I should not be alone that night in case it was hard to arouse me, but did not say I need to be woken up every 2 hours. Plus, I had hit my head on my car door not too long before that and looked up signs of a concussion (since I thought I might have had one) and found out that you do not need to be awake for 24 hours for a concussion, it's a myth. Got that off of WebMd and I trust that site.

Also, if her sister died why is she running to a public forum and sharing all the gory details? (the link didn't work btw, so I'm just going off the part that Anna quoted) If my sister, or anyone close to me, died I would probably just disappear for a while, maybe hop on to say she died, but I wouldn't share all the details even if it was relative to the board.

If the victim was 17, they wouldn't be working in any safety position or operating any machinery more than a cash register. I think that includes parking strollers and ECV's because that's an Operations area.

I am smelling a lot of what bears probably do in the woods.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

The OP's daughter is 17, I don't think that the OP ever gave his sister's age.

Can't help but notice that this is the same type of head injury that killed Natasha Richardson.

That's the reason why on the Circle of Sarcasm, we doubt that it is true.
So I thought I'd ask here, colleagues would know it, right?

only time will tell if this story is true. but i find it hard to believe.

i'm not an expert ECV engineer (surprising, i know), but it must have been going pretty fast for it to knock someone over and hit their head with such impact...

there is an army of jerks that circulate the disneyparks and i'm sure some of them use ECVs, but this almost seems like the EVC was aiming for the CM in question.

murderers riding the vehicles of doom just waiting for their next victims...

Legend: Alligators dwell in the sewers beneath Disneyland.

Truth: There are no sewers below Disneyland, and therefore no alligators in them. The secret tunnels are infested with mutant rats, however.

The thread has been closed, because despite some warnings from a mod, the idiots started arguing about the ECV's in the park, instead of focusing on the alleged death.

I hope that it is some sort of stupid joke, rather than a death!

(if its a joke, I hope they publish who he is, including his e-mail address!)

This was posted on the DIS:
Hello all.

First off I would like to thank everyone who has posted, and sent PMs of comforting words.

Next I would like to give my apologies. I jumped the gun yesterday placing blame on a person who does not exist. Let me explain...

Thursday night my sister called and talked to my wife. That is when she told her the story about the person who hit her in an ECV and she suffered from an concussion. She had also told this story to a few other people. ( Friends, family members )

Well we come to find out from the police investigation that my sister has not been at work for several weeks. What they did find was she had been taking a few different types of medication for her Chronic Migraines that she suffers from. It appears she had been mixing her medications, and this was more than likely the cause of death. An overdose of some sort I guess.

Why she gave her family and friend the story of being hit at work. We'll never know, but at least now we have the real story of what happened, and that helps a little bit with closure.

I was just so angry yesterday when I found out about my sisters death. I just lashed out without knowing 100% what happened. I had no one at home to talk to after I found about her death. ( My wife was on her way home from work ) I just felt the need to release the flood gate of mixed emotions, and just went the wrong way about it.

I'm done posting about my sister for a long while. I just wanted the truth to be told, and have the record set straight , for those kind people who have been supportive. I have lost a sister. My parents have lost a daughter, and Disney has lost a wondeful employee.

I will take comfort in knowing that she touched the lives of so many who vacation at Disney, and gave that little bit of pixie dust and magic to those she met. She will be sorely missed.

Thanks.....

The Circle of Sarcasm is also called the "UnDIS". It consists mostly of people being banned from Disboards because they were snarky (like in my case) or because they posted on CoS (also like in my case). The Disboards webmasters are organizing razzias and witch hunts :D:
Favourite topics are people who apply for bankrupcy but are going 3 weeks to the Poly, people who plan weddings while not yet engaged, etc etc etc.
We comment on all the stupidity, without the pixiedust but with a good amount of cursing.

Disboards is down for maintenance starting about 90 minutes ago. The thread was locked down and is apprently a HOAX.

First off is that Disboards has people who then go to SGT, micechat and other sites to share info. If a cast member had died at the parks then the CMs in WDW would have spread the news. It might even make the news. So can anyone from Disboards or this site verify that someone died? NO

Second is that a scooter hitting a person at full speed down hill is like getting hit by a small motorcycle going 7 mph, not much. It is only maximum of 600 pounds hitting you. I got hit and went to my knees but I have never hit my head on falls. I also highly doubt that a scooter person would hit someone so hard that they would die.

My ECV weighs 192 pounds including batteries. When I am on it the combined weight is a little under 500 pounds. My maximum forward speed is actually 6.5 MPH but reverse is much slower.

The Disney ECVs weigh close to 300 pounds without a passenger; they are limited to less than 3 MPH forward and are also slower in reverse, plus they require flipping a switch to go between forward and reverse, and while the switch is in the Reverse position there is a warning beeping from the ECV.
