I don't remember what the airfare came out to for LAX, John Wayne, Bob Hope, Red Skelton and Jack Benny, but I do remember that with San Diego and the train, we were saving over $100.Ms. Matterhorn wrote:Yes!
As far as those last two... no, they're not the name of airports; I am just making a suggestion...
Of course, once you start down that runway...
Okay, I'm putting this in spoiler mode instead of quote. If you're easily offended, do NOT read.
The captain has turned on the "Fasten Seatbelts" sign for our approach into Jenna Jameson International Airport. The airport has a NOTAM requiring us to make our landing rough and repetitive, and you may have noticed the seatbelts have been replaced with leather restraints...
...it becomes a slippery slope.
Baaaaad Wallaby!

Oh yes, Wallaby, you are indeed BAAAAAAAD~!
So, did you guys decide if you want those points at the previously discussed price, and how many? I'm going to use some of them for our trip to DL in April so I'll kinda need to know fairly soon how many will be left. PM me, 'k?
Thanks.
Hope you all had a WONDERFUL Christmas full of peace and surrounded by family and loved ones.

Re: A Marsupial Appearance?
Hmm...so this is what Marsupials think about in their spare time......*takes notes for later research* :p: .
Anyway, if no one minds, I was thinking of potential places for a Meet-and-Greet. Multiple ones would be best, in order to accomodate as many people as possible. I'm thinking maybe going to the Blue Bayou inside Disneyland Park, along with another one over at Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant in front of Knott's Berry Farm? Maybe a Beach Potluck Picnic and/or Rainforest Cafe/Goofy's Kitchen/Carnation Cafe if there's overwhelming demand?
And would you all like to do one of the Guided Tours offered by the DLR? Unlike WDW, none of our tours go backstage (except for the one offered through Advntures by Disney), but they're all fairly good explanations of the History of Disneyland Park.
Also, as mentioned before, I hereby volunteer myself as Official Driver for SGT East's DLR Invasion 2009, so transportation should not be considered an issue (unless you want to head into Los Angeles during rush hour, in which case you may want to bring along some good literature for the drive....such as "Tale of Two Cities", "War and Peace" or "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" :p :)

A fellow chauffeur! I knew there was a reason I got along with you so well! Regarding Los Angeles, if going there in Rush Hour I would rather see it by rail.glendalais wrote:Hmm...so this is what Marsupials think about in their spare time......*takes notes for later research* :p: .

The one thing that all three of us want to do with NO question is Walking in Walt's Footsteps. Other than that, we're pretty open. What kind of Cast Members would we be to go to the Original and not do that, especially on this kind of tour?
Now, as WDW Cast, what are the rules about us seeing/being backstage at DLR? I am really curious simply because it seems vastly different from our backstage, even from Google Earth. It all seems much more... compact.
I've heard a lot about Blue Bayou, so I want to experience that. I would rather eat at Disney establishments than things like Rainforest, but I am not closed to that if others want to do it. I figure we'll have a couple M&G's a day.
Whazzup, we're still looking at all our options... I think Rat, Shorty and I need to meet up at Bob Evans and talk that one through, getting it at least somewhat hammered out in the next week.
I have a request for someone at DLR... Do you guys still sell the guest name tags? We don't here at WDW, and I don't know about Shorty or Rat, but I would love to wear "Big Wallaby" while there. Might be cooler to make SGT name tags... Hmm...
<goes to work on that idea>

Last time I checked, they were making them until they depleted their stock, at which time they would be discontinued. I don't know if they've reached that point yet.Big Wallaby wrote:I have a request for someone at DLR... Do you guys still sell the guest name tags? As to Backstage, I sent you a PM, but here's a annotated map of the Backstage Facilities:

If you want to preference DLR Establishments, that's cool. How formal are you looking to go here, I assume the Napa Rose at Disney's Grand California Hotel & Spa might be just a tad over the top.

Re: A Marsupial Appearance?
Wow! That's an awesome map. I actually have some feel for the layout of the parks now.
Thank you for all the info you PMed, too. It's all very good to know.
In dining, I prefer to stay not too formal. In preferencing Disney restaurants, I would also like to do some local favorites (like In 'N Out, etc).
One of the options we're looking at for the rooms is whether DLR is doing any sort of promotion like WDW is doing where if you buy a certain number of days you get more free days. Even with buying tickets, it could come out cheaper than our other options, and that opens us up to be able to use the Dining Plan. How worthwhile is the DDP on the West Coast?
Do you have a list of unique restaurants and such at DTD and around the area? What do we HAVE to do while there?

Hmm, so you are coming through Salt Lake... I may need to plan a trip down there and try to hit the same flight... ;)
P.S. It is still wide open.
