From the word I hear, budget cuts and it's gonna hurt entertainment people the most, unfortunately. I have no idea why, as to me ... guests come for the whole entertainment aspect of Disney. I have been thinking about going equity for sometime now and have been seeing that lots of shows are getting the ax. Although they blame it in the coming of AI, I believe it's that they are budget cutting and wanna ax the entertainment peeps first. Heck, I can't even get 6th day work time cause they would rather give the "pick up" days to CP's cause it they are paid less. Oh .. and Liberty Tree - Goofy and the gang are gonna get the boot outta the tavern come January.

I really think it's a shame that they're replacing some of the sweeter aspects of WDW, like Fantasmic and Beauty and the Beast, with pop culture irritations like AI and I am so sick of Hannah Montana and the like. I can't stand it when we walk into a Disney Store and are barraged by pictures of her and that annoying High School Musical gang. I wish some of them would be arrested on drug possession or something and be erased from Disney history.

Soundstage 1 is the old Mickey Mouse Club Set from the 90's, currently the windows are blacked out. From what i have heared, it will have a interactive que area featuring the Monsters and CDA. When i find out more.. ill let you all know.

I've heard about the coaster but did not know it was going to be a linear induction hanging coaster.

Its based on the Hanging Door sceen from the movie.. Where Mike and Sully are chasing Randle to get Boo back.

Nor did I know about Cars Road Rally or new versions of Star Tours and Tower of Terror.

Road Rally is just in concept stage. Imagineering is fam-mouse for shelving projects in this stage. But It is credible that something is going in that area because Back Lot tour is Done.. Put a fork in it..... =-P Sorry HHSrat

Shame that Beauty and the Beast is closing. I love that show. Any ideas why it is closing and what is going into the space?

Entertainmet as a whole is having budget cut backs. All char. dinning areas are loosing their friends for the time being. Beuty and the Beast is closing, unsure when, but they are going to revamp the stage area for a new show in the next couple of years.

Actually in the companies eyes, the guest come for the whole experiance and believe that all lines of operations are cuttable. But entertainmant is the first to cut back, the food and beverage, then attractions, then merch.

On a recent Keys to the Kingdom tour that i was able to go on, the guide said that the actuall cost of an admission was apx. 7 cents per geust and the break even point for admission is the first hour of operations. the rest of the ticket cost goes to employee benniffets <sp>. From their the company makes it profit line rom merch and food sold durring the operating hours.

Equity is having a hiring freeze soon, so if your going to do it... do it fast. They are currently looking for singers/dancers and face tallent. Come first of the year..... look for a hold on entertainment jobs untill about marchish time frame.

They are going to put in an American Idle show? They better have a huge area for trap doors for those who can not carry a note. They should keep cheer leaders away. One scream and that ceiling can fall down.

Based off what I've seen information wise, probably. Looks like the only time it'll be more often is peak season... Probably every night from 12/24-12/31, around 7/4, etc.

Man... kinda sad, given how much that tout the character dining in the DVDs they send out and other promotional materials. LTT I sortof understand, but places like Chef Mickey's? Can't be. I think people have a tendency to make rumors worse than they are... big game of telephone, right?

I can't imagine them doing that, because when I make reservations, they seem to ask if we want to go to them! And I KNOW that they probably make a penny or two on those dining experiences.
