Good for you!! We need more guests like that.idratherbeinwdw wrote:Last week in Epcot my friend Elaine and I ran into some cheering, overly noisy groups wearing tshirts from Brazil. Elaine had no idea about them, so I told her about the Brazilian tour groups and how they are not only loud, but they often cut in lines. She was stunned, and barely believed anyone would be that rude. Didn't take long to prove my point, as a few minutes later we were on the line for SE. A bunch of one group was already in line. About 20 attempted to pass us to catch up to the rest. 2 or 3 people passing is OK, but my friend is from Brooklyn and there was no way she was letting people a group that large pass us. Fuggedaboutit! We held our ground and wouldn't move.

Re: Brazilian Tour Groups 2008
I was on another board (non Disney related), and there was a post about how some foreigners don't respect personal space, depending on where they're from. From there, ir went on to cutting lines, and other things. I posted about the Brazilians, and this one girl didn't want to believe about them cutting lines, because they don't do that in their country. So she talked to one of her friends from Brazil, and she said she believed it because Brazilians are rude. lol

I have a Pakistani friend who refuses to go to Walmarts that are known Pakistani hang-outs; "too rude and they bud" he says. You can count my mom and I in that group that refuses to let large groups get past them in line. We'll stand facing each other, each leaning up against an opposite railing and will rest one of our feet on the railing opposite us. Our attitude is that if you wanted to ride with your friends then you should have lined up with them and if you're that desperate to ride with them, they'll have to wait where they are until you catch up.Whazzup wrote:Good for you!! I also love playing a game I call "Bowling for Brazilians". I created it on my last trip in December 2006. We'd been at Animal Kingdom and had lined up to watch the parade in Africa when a huge Brazilian group showed up and tried to push us out of the way. Needless to say it didn't work. My mom and I are excellent at annoying people like that at parades. We'll conveniently lean in a certain direction to make them either back off or it will destroy their picture if they're being overly pushy. Well after the parade, they started doing their group chanting/clapping thing and were blocking the walkway towards the Safari. My patience was at it's maximum limit after dealing with them for the parade that I just started shoving my way through their group yelling "EXCUSE ME!" at the top of my lungs. I got my point across as they moved out of the way.
And just so you don't think I'm a SG, we try to never block the view of any well behaved young children for the parades. We've even moved over to create more room for a cute little girl who was a complete angel so she could see the parade at DHS.

Too funny! I think all ethnic groups have their unique traits, some positive, some not so positive. I am a real "live and let live" person, and I don't care what anyone does as long as it doesn't rain on my parade. But I will never understand the mindset of folks who just don't care what effect their behavior has on others around them.
I was wondering if any of the CMs on these boards can share this information: What are your instructions regarding people that aren't doing anything dangerous, but they are clearly irritating all the folks around them? Is it a judgment call as to just how loud and annoying people can be? (If this has been discussed before feel free to link me to the thread).
Thanks for any insight you can give me.

I like the idea of bowling for Brazilians. I will have yo remember that for my trip. I wonder if that works on noisy cheer leaders?

WHAT?! That's plain physical assault right there! They definitely should have been kicked out of the park for that.EeyoresButterfly wrote:Disneyprincess: As an entertainer, I have had to deal firsthand with their antics. During parades, we will not go near them during meet and greet section of the routines. If they are on that part of the route, we do a walk and wave. They will grab our arms and try to steal our gloves or any other costume piece in reach. They will also hold us down and try to prevent us from returning to our routine.
The worst that I ever had was at the Hat. At the Hat the characters round robin, so we typically do not have attendants with us when we walk to and from. One group figured out where the entrance to backstage was. They blocked it and prevented one of hte groups from getting off set. They actually held down Friar Tuck and tried to pull his head off. The person came back practically in tears.
For Narnia! And for Aslan!

The CMs over there are normally really good. That was the only day over at DHS that I have had a bad manager/lead. That was the day they kept us out in all day lightning.

Chicago South Siders don't put up with that crap either. We had a group (not Brazillians) try it at Universal recently. We actually did let two people past us to catch up with the two in front of us since we were in the Express Line and were feeling pretty mellow. Then we hear "Excuse me, excuse me" and a bunch more start following. Mr, Syndrome and I immediately got into blockage formation, and they actually had the nads to say, "14 of our friends are coming." Uh, hell no! They ended up letting us in front of them, but amazingly most of the people behind us let 'em do it, other than the couple directly behind us who rode on our coattails.idratherbeinwdw wrote:A bunch of one group was already in line.
