Like I tell tourists I meet when they find out I live here, "Somebodies gotta do it!"

hobie16 wrote:I can do that too. Just before lunch in an engineering class, I was asked to bring in pizza. "Have you ever gotten a blister on the roof of your mouth from hot pizza?" I replied. "And you start rubbing it with your tongue, and it pops? And now there's a piece of skin hanging down and you keep twirling it with your tongue hoping it'll break off but it never does."
The class decided they didn't want pizza. Ever.
As I have a pizza cooking in the oven....I knew I shouldn't be checking SGT right before dinner.

I eat pizza for lunch every day, and occaisonally get a blister. I pop it, remove and dispose of the skin, life goes on. :p:

Actually, that makes me recall a conversation I had with a friend of Irish heritage. She had said they would rub some rum on the gums of a teething baby in order to numb the pain. Don't know if there is any truth to that, however.

Very true.
I grew up in the midwest (now partially underwater)
a lot of the "Home" remidies worked.
Of course, they sometimes didn't really work all that well.
but you would never hear a kid complain!
