He had special dispensation to keep his long white beard year-round so that he could play Santa on stage and close up to kids who would cry foul (or at least cry) if they saw a fake beard.
The fact that he worked in BVCC as a contractor coordinator the rest of the year -- complete with his "Santa" nametag -- just confused people, which I think he also enjoyed.
So, it's *possible* for the Company to demonstrate some smarts in this field. I've seen on-stage CMs in wheelchairs, with braces or crutches, and with head scarfs. All were in roles where their differences from the Disney Look weren't a problem.
That said, given Amerika's paranoid condition about "towel-headed terrorists" today, I guess I can understand why somebody saw Sikh headgear as an issue.
What I want to know is, how does this "devout Sikh" justify compromising his religious principles about carrying a kirpan (short sword) at all times but can't do so for the turban? It was my understanding that they both were required (as well as the rest of the "five K's").
Asking for discounts near Disney simply makes LOGICAL sense. In Ca. one is also able to get free dental / med care if they are of Native American lineage, Spanish & or Mexican American lineage - back to 1769, of low income & the list goes on. ectomstr, my info is only from Ca. but Plz try wherever you are. You might be very surprised & find a dentist who will work with you & give you all the help you need. Good Luck.
