I was such a precocious child myself and loved nature walks and digging around in the creeks and lakes and natural preserves nearby! I would love to have the opportunity to show kids that love of nature and amazement at the world around us, but I want them to go home at night to be with their parents. :)

Maybe I should work for the recreation dept or sumthin like that. Be a 4-H leader. I was in 4-H and loved it! :)

My youngest split her week between two preschools. One was named Leapin' Lizards. They took a field trip every day and went on hikes to learn about nature and the environment. She really enjoyed it. They hiked around the perimeter of a golf course one day and she came back with a Ping putter. Apparently some golfer had a bad putt and tossed it into the woods.

I only mention this because I had to take an online sexual harassment training at work. We're guessing someone got fired for harassment recently. Pregnancy is a protected category and cannot be discriminated against...

Having said that, if the girl can walk all over a Disney park, she can stand for the monorail ride.

The Repeat performance by "Her Father" seems awfully suspicious....
I am actually wondering if she is just chubby and he just said, look, we'll make something up to demand front of the line wherever we go...yet NO wheelchair to back up that she is "Disabled".
Pregnant or not, I would think she would be embarrassed to have someone carrying on about it. I think it smacks of an abusive family situation. Pretty creepy.

Agreed, DMom. While I don't like PapaMouse's post as I find it offensive, at the same time you almost have to wonder if it's accurate.

I understand that pregnancy is a "protected class", but again, it's not something you can claim you didn't see coming, unless you're stuck in a blue lagoon. Then it would be understandable. Otherwise, you choose to be pregnant, even if it's not something you want. Only sure thing is abstinence.

I'm reminded of the one about the four-year-old boy who had a lying problem. His parents told him that if he kept lying he would get fat. It got him to stop, and the visit to the store with his mom the next day cemented the deal.

You see, he wandered off from his mother to the next aisle, where he saw a very obviously pregnant lady. All he could do was stare, mouth agape. After a few moments, she turned to him and said, "Little boy, you don't know who I am, so stop staring at me."

After a moment, he replied, "No, I don't know you, but I know what you've been doing!"

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Hell, I am in no way saying that those in wheelchairs or anyone for that matter should get any treatment than anyone else. I myself went through WDW in a wheelchair back in 02 after I had a knee replacement. For over six months I could go nowhere without help and most ride cars don't accomidate a condition where your leg is being held streight out. This proved frustraiting for all involved, but that being said, I never felt from any of the cast members that I was an inconveaniance. In almost every instance, they let me take my time and get confortable before sending the ride on.

My problem is with those people who think they can get more than they deserve. Those who will ignore sings that say exit only just so they can avoid the long line during a fireworks exit, deserve to be sent back down the ramp to be placed back in line, not placed on the train like they want.

VISA. It's everywhere you want to be, and a lot of places you don't.

I hauled my 7 months pregnant butt through a week at WDW, stood on buses, and lived to tell about it!!! :D:

I have a 15 year old daughter. If she gets pregnant, she WILL be disabled, but it won't be from the pregnancy.

From the tone of the responses of parents here, if I could design a modern, practical chastity belt I could get very rich, just from the parents here. Unfortunately the original design wouldn't work well now as personal hygene is much more important these days. Way back then, it wasn't as noticable if your "belt" wasn't washable.

Randy...ick.
:p:

I think I would be more angry that she did not use protection than the fact that she had sex. But that's just me. And until I am in that place (knocking on wood that I never will be), I don't know. Court has 3 younger siblings (13, 4, and 3) and currently has no desire to make children of her own in the next 10 years or so.

From what I hear from other parents here and there, though, I agree...the Randy's Hygenic Chastity Belt would be a sure-fire winner!!!
