Even though this is the trip from hell, it makes me want to go back...now...
Anytime I see pictures of Disneyland or WDW I want to go RIGHT NOW!!!!!! The siren call of the Magic and Pixie Dust is too strong to resist! Even with a trip from Hell, I still want to be there instead of here, in this house! I really consider the Disneyland Hotel more home than this house. I have never gotten attached to this house enough to call it home. It is not home to me. We have not found our *home* yet. I know how much I love Florida and I am betting we will find our home there. I love being in Florida and I love that there is so much to do and that our joints will feel much better there. They did when we were there. I have relatives in Florida, so family is not that far away. My crazy Uncle Bob lives there. I love my Uncle Bob and Aunt Marion and we always stop to see them for a few days in Inverness when we come to The World! He really is nutz! Makes for a fun visit!

Anyway...back to the trip...
Next up on oour schedule was the Walk In Walt's Footsteps tour at 9:30. We rolled over to the Park and checked in and waited for our tour guide, AKA our *Plaid* :D: I wanna be a plaid. I would love doing tours. I could definitely see myself in that role. Our tour guide was Michael and he was amazing!

Image

Michael knew everything about DL and Walt. He really made me want to be a Plaid. Here are some pictures from the tour. They take you all over and give you great unknown (unless you read all the Disney history books out there and even then some are no in the books) tidbits of info and they quash the urban legens about why Club 33 as named Club 33. It was NOT because there were 33 original sponsors at DL. It just happened to be the next address number on the Rue in New Orleans Square! Anyway, that is just one of the little bits of cool Disney info we learned. This was our first time on this tour and I think we would probably do it again, since each Tour Guide puts their own personality into the tour spiel and makes it different and fun.

On our way over to The First 50 Magical Years, I caught a photo of the Christmas tree in Town Square! So beautiful!

This was the first stop on the Tour!

Inside The First 50 Years is a veritable history lesson on Disneyland and Walt himself. It was very nice and I enjoyed the history lesson very much. I understand that recently (after our trip there) that the Disney Gallery has resurfaced in the lobby of that building. It will be intersting to see when we go back at the end of the month.

From there we went over to the Fire Station and learned some more cool facts...You'll just have to take the tour to find out some of those secrets and cool historical facts...

There is a light that is kept burning in the window directly above the Fire Station, that is where Walt's apartment is. They say that the light is always on, unless Walt's daughter Diane is visiting the Park and then it is turned off. I don't know why, but that is the story. Interesting...

Our next stop was on Main Street where we learned about the Disney Windows. Most windows in Disneyland have names of real people who worked for Disney. You will see this all up and down Main Street. This one was dedicated to Walt's father.

We then headed over to Frontierland and Michael showed us a window dedicated to Davy Crockett! Look for these cool windows next time you go to the Park! The sun was right at the level of our eyes if we looked up and I had to finagle a spot to get the shot without the sun completing bleaching out the pic.

Next time you come to Disneyland you're gonna have to look at the windows and see if you can find one that is dedicated to the Cast members- There is one somewhere on Main Street...

More pics coming...

Here is the petrified tree in Frontierland. The story is that Walt bought this for his wife Lillian as a gift and she was *surprised* so to speak. She told him the *present* would fit better in his Park! than in their home! LOL! ;)

The next stop was the infamous Club33. Of course we could not go into the club itself, but they take you into the downstairs lobby. It was very nice. (My friend in So Cal is working on getting me a ress for my birthday on Jan 30th!. I am hoping we can get it! :D: )

Good luck...I remember my Walk tour from 2002... we could hear them setting the tables there from the lobby.

On some of these shots, I just lifted my camera up and aimed at the subject. Most of the cool scenes were on the other side of the boat from me. Some pics did not turn out great, but you can see the subject. Next trip I get the other side of the boat!
