Sears is having a 50% off sale in the tool department?!?!

Wah-hahahah!!! :D: Love it!

As Wallaby & Zazu can now attest, I'm no male model, but I'm with you on the chairs. I'll <shudder> diet & lose weight before lowering myself (multiple meanings intended) into one of those things just because of my girth. (I'm personally waiting for the invention of hover-shoes.)

And besides, I'm tall and can see over the crowds. I'd hate to give that up.

jlowejd5 wrote:Okay, I actually laughed out loud at that one. I may be the noob opening a can of worms here, (because god knows you can't say anything like this one some of the other boards without getting stomped like a narc at a biker rally) but I really hate the scooters.

With the caveat that yes, I understand that some people would not be able to enjoy the parks without them. My dad was in one for three years before he died. Well, we let him off to sleep and eat and stuff, but you know what I mean.

That said, when the $%&# did "fat and lazy" become a disability? And I'm not talking "Springer" fat, "cut me out of my apartment" fat, or even "they're making a show about me on Discovery" fat. Just normal Amurrican obesity, now on wheels. I swear I saw a guy cutting through Cosmic Ray's on a scooter puling his wife in a wheelchair, going about 80mph inside the building. Yes, Disney's a big place. Yes, your feet get tired. Waah. Suck it up, or stay home. And this from a guy who's a lot closer to the Farley side of the Chippendale's audition stage than the Swayze side.

It's like when they put the scooters in the grocery store, so I can follow Gertrude up and down the aisle for 45 minutes, trying to figure out which tin of cat food she'd like for dinner that night. People: if you're too fat to shop for groceries, STOP EATING!!

Wow. Can you tell I'm tired and cranky today? Sorry about that... :o:
A number of years ago, DW and I were at WDW, after a couple years "break" mostly due to work scheduling, and were amazed at the number of ECV's we were seeing that did have "large" people in them. WE also noticed that those people seemed to have a lot of problems driving and controlling them. which could mean it was only the first time they decided to use one. We did see some people that had no outward appearence of a disabality, but were handling their ECV in a crowd with great skill. Hmmmmm

I think we need to have an amendment to the ADA act that would simply have the doctors issued some sort of certificate saying that you need one.

If it was the large people, it might be an issue with inertia. :D: I'm a pretty big dude and I can't exactly stop on a dime even when I'm walking!

No..I am talking about turning and backing, and even going forward. I was implying that it was probably the first time using one, and that possibly they only got it because they did not want to walk.

We saw one rather "big boned" women backing up into a bunch of little kids, when the mom yelled at her to stop, she gave the mom a suprised look and said, "Get out of the way next time", then after looking at the controls, put it info forward mode and drove off. A CM that was nearby at a Water/coke stand just kind of shook her head. (No one was hurt on anything)

We saw the same lady later that day hve the same kids of problems, running up behind people walking slow, because they had some little kids walking, and yelling for them to move. A riding SG if you will!

We have to find a way to set booby-traps for SG's like this. I routinely clothes-line children on heelies who are acting stupid, maybe I should trip and douse people like this with a drink? I dunno...any good ideas out there for SG on wheels booby-traps?

Thx for that. I wish I could tell them that but I just smile when secretly inside I wish they could stand in front of a carriage at Soarin' when it is dispatched...heheh

Not a problem, bro'. Anything I can do to help out... When I come down, if you want, I'll spend some time standing behind you wearing dark shades in my old "SECURITY" t-shirt and just tackle anybody who tries to be an SG to you. :p:
