As far as the Spring Breakers, keep in mind that Florida is where "Girls Gone Wild" is from. Lots of Spring Break parties here.

My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

Good point!! they are also filming that on lake Havasue (sp?) and other places on the colorado river!

Which brings another question, is Disneyland maxed out on spring break? I just don't think of DLR, or WDW as a destination for the party crowd!

We always try to plan our Spring WDW trip between Easter and Memorial Day. That way there is good weather and light crowds in the Parks and we don't have to deal with the Spring break issue or the beginning of Summer issue! It works out for us to come from the beginning of May for three weeks and leave before Memorial day weekend. Easter is on March 23 in 2008, so April and May would be great times to come. Still cool in April, is very warm in May! That is when we are coming back to WDW in 2008, May!!!!!!! And you get the benefit of the Flower and Garden Festival with all the wonderful Topiaries and beautiful roses in EPCOT. We love the Festival!!!!!!! Can't wait to see ya'll there in 2008!!!!!!!! :D:
Susi*I promise not to get sick at WDW*slicker

But, we still have one more DL trip in January to plan for before we make it out to Florida, GLORIOUS FLorida, where I long to live and play and enjoy the beaches and sunshine and The World!!!!!!!!!! And someday when the house sells, we WILL be there!!!!!!!! Oh YES, we will!!!!

It has become a quest!! (to get to Florida)

Because of work issues, I always take vacation in September/October time frame so for the most part at WDW the crowds are smaller. Going up to DL we run into crowds once in a while, but we try and go on a weekday so, again, the crowds will be minimal. thinking that if I retire, we could go anytime during the year!! WooHoo!!

All right, update number three!

Basically, I got a nice gift (or not so much, depending on how you look at it) when I checked my schedule for the week of 6-12 January. I'm working on Sunday the 6th, then I have the rest of the week off (note, for those of you planning last minute trips to DL, this would be a very good week to go ;) )

Anyway, factor in my parents having time off, wanting to go see WDW, and being willing to foot the entire bill (which didn't come out to that much, truth be told)....

I'll be arriving at WDW on 7 January, and will be there for 5 days before flying out on the 11th. I'm staying at the Pop Century Resort.

:D:

Make sure you put your trip plans on the Calendar. I'd like to start using that to know when people are coming down.

Hey Glendalais - that's GREAT! Glad you can get away and come visit WDW. You will have a great time, and enough time to get a taste of each park and maybe Downtown Disney/Pleasure Island, too.
Give Wallaby a hug for me when you go to DAK.

Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward to coming. There's so much to do in the meantime though. I have to pack, arrange for someone to take care of some things, etc.

I've also put it on the calendar, so if you're working during that time, PM me with where and when so I can try to come and visit.

A few questions though.

What is an ADR exactly, and specifically, how does it differ from a PS?

Since I'm leaving next Monday, should I expect there to be any ADRs if I call Disney Dining later today?

How would I use my Main Entrance Pass there? Do I have to present my card at some window to get tickets (which is what I think we make Florida-site CMs do when they come to DL), or can I just do like I do here and just walk through the turnstiles and flash my card at the CM?

Also, how would my discount work with regards to food and merchandise? Can they swipe my DL Cast ID through the register like we do here? I know from when I've worked Cashier that when I get someone from WDW, I'm supposed to swipe their Main Entrance Pass since apparently WDW Cast IDs don't have a magnetic stripe on them, is it the same there?

I'm so excited! Hopefully, I don't turn into that much of an SG, lol *massive apologies in advance if I do*

As is usual Disney has changed a name and kept things generally the same. An ADR is the new name for PS. There may be a few minor and obscure differences, but in general that's it. As to what will be available at this late date, popular locations and times are likely full up. But if you can be a bit flexable about location and time you have a chance of getting something. And the later in the week the better chance you will have as the crowds will tend to drop off rapidly after tue. Many people that are there for NYEve may stay until the weekend but generally there will be a gradual decline with a sharp drop off about the sunday after NYEve.

Since I am not a CM I can't help with the rest.

Randy
