Well I'm part time as well in Fantasyland so I only work at most 24 hours over 2 days, so thats probably a factor on why I've been able to deal with it for a year and a half. It's pretty much a revolving door for CMs, coordinators, and managers, and (with the exception of the most recent batch of CPs... I'll miss them) get the leftovers that Ad/lib, T-land, and Frontier didn't want. It's fun to work with some of the older guys and gals, some are a bit grumpy at times but they are still fun. We are in charge of the west end of the hub for parades, we do PAC for Fireworks, and we have the most attractions than any other area (9 including toontown). Its got the most guest interaction than any other land, yet it lacks so much in story and theming from the cast. The managers are pretty cool, and are generally willing to help you out if you respect them. Small world complex is always the most understaffed despite being the side where most people are trained (it was my first complex)- my bet is call-ins. Best part about F-land is you normally have variety... depending on what complex you are trained on and how many you know (and the mood of CDS and GEMS) you could work small world, peter pan, and carrousel in the morning, pick up dream maker for 2 hours, then be moved to philhar/dumbo complex, do Wishes PAC, then finish the night on pooh/snow/teacups complex. All without a costume change! I'm trained on all 3 f-land complexes, yet all I ever get is Small World (or pulled from philhar or pooh to small world). It kinda sucks since small world only has 6 places at the most in its rotation versus the 9 in pan/carrousel rotation so for the most part I always get stuck with bumping someone at pan FP return, heading to merge/hell, load 2, then standby and hopefully getting my break before I get to load 1. I rarely actually get anything IN small world, which is my favorite (if I'm unload 1 and theres someone good in tower or vice-versa, we can get that line DOWN!)
Wow that ended up much longer than I intended and transformed into a rant about Fantasyland...sorry 'bout that.
...it's a world of laughter, a world of tears,
it's a world of hope, it's a world of fears,
there's so much that we share,
that it's time we're aware,
it's a small world after all.
