A lady at my church gave me $20 to have dinner at Norm's Restaurant. Man, they feed you enough to properly feed two people--three from a third world country! The unsweetened cranberry relish--whole berry, BTW--was a shock, as I'm accustomed to having sweetened, but at least I know my bladder will be okay!

But I couldn't finish my apple pie--no, I didn't people bag it--I swear that slab of pie was enough for two!
Granted, I'm missing having leftovers, though--the last three years I've gotten a Thanksgiving basket from my church, but not this year. That's okay, though--my roomies were here, there, and everywhere. Cookie's been in rehab since August after she fell in the shower and injured her back; C.J. and Diane were housesitting at Diane's sister's place; Kristina said she doesn't do holidays and spent it with a friend; Becky had to be on call for a friend of hers with medical issues, including losing her vision to the point where she can't drive and has to see a specialist. So I was free to go to Norm's.
Not that I minded not having a turkey to cook this year.... maybe for Christmas, we'll see. But boy was Norm's good! The service manager served me, with a bit of assistance from a waitress when he was serving someone else. What impressed me most is how calm everyone was. I've been in sit-down restaurants when the staff was harried and snappish, these folks were totally cool and professional in demeanor. If I had the bucks, I'd eat there more often, though it wouldn't do my waistline any favors.
