Re: Witnessed SGT @ Test Track single rider line
I really like that... I wish I could have a monorail up on high running around my room (the living room is out though... not sure my roommate could handle that).
There's an SGT pin? That might be useful before the next time I go (unfortunately not until December, but I really wish I could meet some of the CMs here).

I know one person who ran a shelf around near the ceiling, running through two rooms in their house, and through the walls above the doors to move from one room to another.EmptyCinema wrote:I really like that... Another person suspended track from the ceiling of the kitchen/dining room in their house.
BTW, I intend to take some new photos of my home layout and so as soon as I do I'll post them and let you all know. :)
As to the pin. On the main SGT opening page there is a link to cafe press where there are lots of SGT logo items (including SGT thong underwear, believe it or not). I just stuck to a pin, a hat and a couple of tote bags to carry my groceries in from the car with. :D: Hey Darph, those bags are sturdy enough that each one could probably carry 6 sixpacks. So if you use two to ballance the load you could probably carry 12 sixpacks at one time.

I think I hear a Ralph Nader (no relation)/MythBusters test in the future. :D:

Two points:Big Wallaby wrote:I do have to say, being that it's Zazu building it, I'm a bit surprised there isn't a double track the whole way around.
1. All of my railroad experience has been on single-track lines, some with passing sidings but none with double-track.
2. Have you *priced* that monorail track? Even with my cast discount it was a non-trivial amount of change.

It's not hard. Just PM those of us you'd like to meet. Offer to meet at places that server beer for best response. :cheers:EmptyCinema wrote:There's an SGT pin? That might be useful before the next time I go (unfortunately not until December, but I really wish I could meet some of the CMs here).
Or, if you'd like to do bulk loading, post a thread announcing an SGT meet! Since you're in charge, you get to pick the time and place (and make the ressies).
I'm ready!

Finding a time/place to do an SGT meet in mid-December might be a bit of a challenge, but it would be fun to do. Any idea of locations that would be good to meet at and be able to get reservations for a largish party at?

Actually, mid December is a good time. It gets crazy the week before xmas to the week after New Years.EmptyCinema wrote:Finding a time/place to do an SGT meet in mid-December might be a bit of a challenge, but it would be fun to do. Yeah, we're currently planning to be there the 15-21st. Towards the end of that is probably pretty bad, but hopefully there'd be a good time somewhere in there. I'll probably start a new thread for this shortly. :)

I am out of my Medical but am thinking of self-certification for Sport Pilot. Since I have never been turned down for a Medical I can do that.Big Wallaby wrote:God help you if you're also a pilot and I ever meet you. We'll never stop talking. And I don't care how creepy you are, either :D:
When I was active as a pilot I was based out of IAD. My flying in Florida includes Daytona Beach, Melbourne, Kissimmee and two airports in Tampa, Peter O Knight and TPA. One of my fun trips involved taking a light single into ORD on a Friday afternoon.
