Helicopter Mom (HM for short) had to hold the toy broom for her and help her pretend to sweep along with the other little girls(mine included) whose parents seemed happy that they had a free moment (include me this time..lol) Sweet little girl, not stupid, quiet compared to my DD :D: Then again a herd of ravaging elephants are quiet compared to mine :D: Well anyway, we were all herded from the main room to the arts and crafts room where all the kids sat down and the parents stood up along the wall (at least there was some non zombie bodies this time). Guess who wasn't having her kid sit down? Come on guess! I finally had it, the poor child looked like she was the outcast. There happened to be an open chair next to my DD so I talked to the child, not HM and pointed out my DD and said why dont you go sit down there. Of course HM "HAD" to walk her over there. I gotta give it up for the dad on this one. HM was going to squat down next to her and Dad literally grabbed her shoulders and yanked her to a standing position. Both Donnie and I were like WHOA! We were close enuf to also hear the dad say something to the effect of "she is fine" .
I kept telling HM to trust me since I have an almost 22 yr old too (god I'm getting old

The kids were seated and I was standing kinda behind HM. I whispered in her ear "stay put... she is fine and can do it herself" YES I really said that to a total stranger. I have balls what can I say. Plus I am bigger then her...lol
The girl did fine on her own.
Truthfully, I think the child will be fine away from HM. She actually seemed to liven up when she wasnt looking at her mom it is when HM spoke or got close or when the child looked at her that she seemed to phsyically scrunch down into herself. I kinda buddied her up with my DD since she herself hasnt had much interaction with other kids other then some VBS, etc and it kinda helped Meghyn to make a friend of sorts. I did hear about "my new friend" later so it worked. :)
I am sure that HM thot I was pushy and annoying and I dont normally butt in on others parenting skills but this effects my DD since the girl will be in her class and I am paying good money to have my DD educated not to have other children disrupte that by being whiny brats. So I dont care what she thot really. ;)
SIDE NOTE: I was about to leave my whiny brat at Ross's tonite when she treew a total hissy fit over a toy that she wasnt getting. No one can acuse me of helicopter parenting :D: 4 yr old up for trade of lifetime passes to WDW...any takers?????
