She could have given him an attitude, that is what a real New Yorker would have expected. ;) (I lived there for twenty years myself, but not in the city)

My first experience with New Yorkers was in Army basic training. An interesting lot. I still remember their favorite saying. "Yaaaaaaaa, your ass sucks swampwater!"avengador1 wrote:She could have given him an attitude, that is what a real New Yorker would have expected.

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Re: Welcome to Florida
I can not stand New Yorkers who move to Florida and bitch and complain on how much better New York is. How much they miss various things and how its so much better up there.
I have told many of them that if it was so much better in New York then go back. I think Florida is the best and do not appreciate them bitching.
Personally, I have been to New York multiple times and really do not think its that great of a city. Sure it has some nice things but I wouldn't live in that city if I made a million bucks a day.

Honey, that problem got so bad here in Atlanta, Lewis Grizzard had a joke about it. He said that he used to tell people "Don't like it? Delta is ready when you are." I still use that one.NemoRanger wrote:I can not stand New Yorkers who move to Florida and bitch and complain on how much better New York is. I miss Lewis. He was always one of my favorite humorists. :(GaTechGal wrote:Honey, that problem got so bad here in Atlanta, Lewis Grizzard had a joke about it. He said that he used to tell people "Don't like it? Delta is ready when you are." I still use that one.

I used to have a bumper sticker that said "Leaving Florida? Take a friend."NemoRanger wrote:I can not stand New Yorkers who move to Florida and bitch and complain on how much better New York is. How much they miss various things and how its so much better up there.

The saddest thing happened the other week, my back windshield shattered and I finally suffered the loss of my beloved "I'm not a tourist, I'm an armed and hostile native' sticker.
The thing is about most New Yorkers, they don't always live in New York. There is a long line of people who despised the dreaded "Sewer Rat". Ask anyone in the Pocono's or the general area of the Northwest Corner of PA you'll get a very colorful response!
I don't mind NYC. The food is amazing, there is always something to do and the nightlife is excellent but I'd rather not pay $8 for a burger at Wendys!

Alleged drunk driver causes scare on Philadelphia airport runway
By Ricardo Lopez
March 1, 2012, 3:08 p.m.
Maybe he was lost?
An alleged drunk driver steered his Jeep onto the runways of Philadelphia International Airport on Thursday morning, startling onlookers and forcing the airport to close for about 30 minutes.
Although he didn't make it onto any runways that were in use, Kenneth Mazik caused several flights to be diverted while police worked to intercept his black Jeep Grand Cherokee, Philadelphia police said.
Mazik, 24, allegedly drove through a runway gate fence shortly after 11 a.m. and led police officers and a fleet of emergency workers on a brief chase.
Police said Mazik drove up the length of one runway, crossed onto a parallel runway and drove back before he was arrested. full article
