Over 55 once in my life. Never again.
Legal doesn't necessarily mean smart. Vice versa is also sometimes true.
My opinions are mine and mine only. If my opinions are the opinion of others who happen to share whatever my crazy views may be, then fine, but it's not because I represent them in having my opinions. Got it?

I believe that in just about every vehicle code in the U.S., there is typically a little something to the effect that while one shouldn't drive above the posted speed limit, they also shouldn't drive faster than is safe under current conditions. That means that while one might be able to get a bike up to 55 MPH, if it isn't safe to do so, than don't do it!

When 'The Presidio' in San Francisco was still a military base the speed limit was 20 or 25 MPH and there was this steep, windy hill that bicyclists loved and there were signs stating that speeding enforcement included bicycles.

My thoughts exactly! I'm sick and tired of people taking advantage of Disney and screwing CM. It especially irritates me that the CM gets call in with all the big shots as if assumed guilty regardless of her/his spotless record. Doesn't a damn good record count for anything anymore? Grr! Sorry irritated and bitchy by this sort of thing that lately is becoming too common among the bigger people.

It's a little hard to tell from the OP, but with a threat of criminal charges and a lawsuit, the meeting with the CM could be as much for the CM's protection as anything else. Get the details early and be able to swear in court that you took the accusation seriously, followed procedure, and met with the CM. You can then go on to testify about the CMs rep and spotless record. The big thing would be the tone of the meeting. I've been called into a a review meeting with my superior before where the meeting began "We have to have this meeting because HR requires it. I know that you're a good worker and that there is no issue here." and ended with "Okay. Glad we had this talk." and a smile.
It was unclear in this case if the CM was crying because of the accusation or because of the meeting. If the VP et al started with "My God, what did you do" then bad on them.

By driving their passengers someplace isolated, getting out of the front and then into the back. It's not nearly as implausible as you seem to think.

Yep. Or, if it was open enough he could "reach back," then possibly he could go over the seat. And a lot of taxi drivers can lock the back doors from the front. One way or the other, sounds like he physically restrained at least one of the victims -- note that part of the charges were "forcible confinement."

(Disney should have 'stocks' out front of the park) ;)
I say bring such SG's to the stocks located in Liberty Square. Lock em' in for a few hours in the Florida sun in plain view of all passerbys and see if this helps curb such behaviour. Fellow CMs in plaincloths can pass by and hurl popcorn at them ( nothing nasty as we must consider our Custodial friends!)
:)
Some people really are jerks and i can think of several SG's that so could have deserved this. People who puposely try to get something for nothing by causing trouble are such jerks. What makes people think that by being rude will make others want to be nice to them and reward them? Grrrrr....
People can really SUCK sometimes....

Funny thing about those stocks, as I understand they are authentically reproduced. So all you need is the chains and cuffs to attach and you're set.
