World's Tallest Roller Coaster

Post by Whazzup » Thu Aug 11, 2011 5:01 pm

Just saw on the news tonight that a 45-story-tall ferris wheel will be built in Orlando. It will be the world's tallest ferris wheel and will be called the Orlando Eye (modeled after the famous London Eye).

Anybody know where it's going to be built?

I believe it is to be on I Drive somewhere. So shouldnt it be called the Orlando I ??

I'm guessing it is Ripleys building it. Apparently there will be a wax museum, aquarium, dining and, i think a hotel. THe aquarium and wax museum are common features of Ripleys attractions.

Interesting. Thanks, DD. Isn't there already a Ripley's Wax Museum in Orlando?

I heard about that this morning on the radio. IIRC it's only going to be the second tallest Ferris Wheel. It's going to be on I-Drive.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Put some vanes on that sucker and one good hurricane could power the whole continent for a year!

As soon as I read "Put some vanes on that sucker..." I started chuckling out loud. The mental image that formed. What a ride for the ones lucky enough to be on board when a front comes through!
