World's Tallest Roller Coaster
Just saw on the news tonight that a 45-story-tall ferris wheel will be built in Orlando. It will be the world's tallest ferris wheel and will be called the Orlando Eye (modeled after the famous London Eye).
Anybody know where it's going to be built?

I'm guessing it is Ripleys building it. Apparently there will be a wax museum, aquarium, dining and, i think a hotel. THe aquarium and wax museum are common features of Ripleys attractions.

Interesting. Thanks, DD. Isn't there already a Ripley's Wax Museum in Orlando?

Re: World's Tallest Roller Coaster
I heard about that this morning on the radio. IIRC it's only going to be the second tallest Ferris Wheel. It's going to be on I-Drive.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

WHY would anyone want to something that 'tall' in a hurricane prone area?

Beer....The reason I get up every,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,afternoon.
Re: World's Tallest Roller Coaster
its a project being done by Merlin entertainment and the Orlando eye will be similar to the London Eye

Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

Put some vanes on that sucker and one good hurricane could power the whole continent for a year!darph nader wrote:WHY would anyone want to something that 'tall' in a hurricane prone area?![]()

As soon as I read "Put some vanes on that sucker..." I started chuckling out loud. The mental image that formed. What a ride for the ones lucky enough to be on board when a front comes through!Zazu wrote:Put some vanes on that sucker and one good hurricane could power the whole continent for a year!
