My uninformed vote would be for rails. I think there's something special about the steam engines.

Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

What FelineFan said: Toaster = Contemporary Resort.

Zazu, I would LOVE to see you on the rails!!! I think you would enjoy it and I know you would bring magic to guests everyday (not that you don't now). But....I'm with MAPO: get a good sunscreen and keep yourself cool.

MAPO - what sunscreen are you using? Does the 100 really work? I'm using a 50 right now and I'm still burning (I'm a pale redhead, what can I say?). The running joke with hubby's and my friends is that I'll burst into flames if I go outside because I'm vampire pale. Ah, well.....

And sorry about the heat wave....we had it here, too, last week. Thank god we're back to manageable 80 degrees this week.

Dragon: I'm in the same boat. Glow-in-the-dark white, dark haired Irish girl who does a very good impression of a boiled lobster if left in the sun for 10 minutes minus sunscreen.
I've found the Coopertone Sport 50 SPF works awesome provided you bring it with you and slather it on every 3 hours. The plus side it's one of the few that doesn't have that "I just rolled in a vat of lard" greasy feeling which I personally loathe. That's the only way I keep my ghostly color in tact without doing a lobster impression, which happens if I don't reapply every 3 hours. The Coopertone "Oil Free Faces" which is 30 SPF works wonderful for sensitive skin and faces. If following the rule of "3 hours, grease me up baby" it works wonderfully.

Didn't they do a study a few years ago about how the 100 SPF stuff didn't work? I'll have to google that now.

Just two more cents added to the pot ;)

Y'all, this summer I started using the Neutrogena SPF 100. It's AWESOME. Every where I put it I'm ok. Any place I miss gets fried. And it didn't need to be reapplied often and didn't seem to wash off in the ocean. I'm definitly stocking up for the beach coming up. And I've also used the 70 for faces that also works great. But then I've always got a ball cap on in the sun, so it gets shade most of the time.

I'm also a redhead and I started using the Neutrogena SPF 100 in the spray can. I like it because it doesn't require "slathering." Plus it is easier to do the top of my head which also burns. That's the last place I want skin cancer!

Every time I go into town or down to the resort area I'll see someone or groups of someones that are literally glowing red. I want to drag them to an ABC store and show them the benefits of aloe to suck the heat out and anything rated at SPF 30 or above that should be applied frequently. But I don't. There's just too many of them and every week brings in a new batch.

And this just in...

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday it will implement new rules for sunscreen products, in order to help Americans reduce their risk of skin cancer and early aging.

The agency's new testing regulations will let consumers know whether a sunning product is "broad spectrum," which means it protects against both ultraviolet rays A and B. U-V-A rays are the main cause of skin cancer and premature aging. Too many U-V-B rays can cause serious sunburn.

“FDA has evaluated the data and developed testing and labeling requirements for sunscreen products so that manufacturers can modernize their product information and consumers can be well-informed on which products offer the greatest benefit,” said Janet Woodcock, M.D., director of the FDA’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “These changes to sunscreen labels are an important part of helping consumers have the information they need so they can choose the right sun protection for themselves and their families.” Full article

Do you have Gumbo-Limbo trees in Hawaii? In parts of the carribean, they are known as the tourist tree. Because they are red and peeling !
