Am I Crazy?

Post by Zazu » Sun Jun 05, 2011 11:14 pm

As some here will recall, I spent seven years as a Railroad Conductor on the WDW Railroad before transferring to the Big Toaster. Today I heard that folks on the railroad are working mandatory doubles on account of not having enough trained cast.

And I got to thinking, maybe I should consider going back. Yes, it's a wee pay cut, but not that many dollars per year. Yes, it's back outside, but I would be back in the Magic Kingdom again. Yes, it may be harder to transfer into Guest Relations from Attractions, but the department offices are both on the second floor of City Hall.

So tell me, am I crazy to be considering this?

It sounds good. How long have you been with Guest Relations? If they are promising 40 + hours, go for it. But if it is lower in pay, you might want to wait. I have friends who work at Disneyland's QSR-Vending and they are working 52 to 60 hours a week. Crazy folks.

You wouldn't have asked if you weren't serious about a move. Your heart is a steam engine, make the deal.

Do what you love, till you can't do it anymore.

"A little swordplay, now and then, keeps my mind off sheep!"

"You're messing with my Zen thing, man."

"Dreams are as portals,
flat visions of misty places,
fragments bound below my surface,
but I can write dreams,
they flow from me,
inscribed but now unbound,
I touch them,
and they are real,
and they are real."

From your postings I have to come think of you as one of the very special cast members who go the extra distance to make the magic. So, from a selfish perspective, it seems like you would have more opportunities to bring magic into people's vacations from inside the MK. I know that I, for one, ride the trains a whole lot more often than I go into the Toaster.
;)

That said, I'm sure you'll have an impact wherever you are.

No, you're not crazy. Believe me, life is short and you could be gone in an instant. Do what you love ~ it makes you an even better person enjoying his one-time only life. That makes an impact on others. Good luck.
