After seeing the movie, I see now what they did. It's the set up for the third film. And I'm OK with the ending now.

Finally saw it last night. Pretty cool. It suffered a bit from the same effects-to-story ratio as the original, but that arguably made it a better fit as a sequel.

What made the film completely awesome, though, was that I saw it in IMAX:3D. Unbelievable! The visuals alone in IMAX are amazing, but then adding in 42,000-watt sound system (with what had to be some pretty ginormous subwoofers) pushed it over the top. What a rush! (I could do without paying $16 per ticket for the experience, but thankfully we had some gift cards.)
